The Southwest Silk Road - Connecting China and Southeast Asia:
Route: BuTuo, Xichang, Panzihua, Lijiang, Kunming, Dali, Shaxi, Baoshan, Tengchong, Ruili
Since as early as the second century BCE the Southwest Silk Road has connected South and Southeast Asia to China, overland via Burma, through Yunnan province and into Sichuan. Over two thousand years of trade, human migration and cultural diffusion have contributed to the region’s uniquely rich and diverse history. However the Southwest Silk Road has remained one of the least investigated and understood of the Silk Road passages.
During World War II, China’s cooperation with international forces to ward off the Japanese invasion brought the region —specifically the Southwest Silk Road and its successors the Burma Road and the Stilwell Military Road— and its history into the limelight and some investigation into its cultural significance was undertaken. However, the development of new technologies, rendered the route’s military function obsolete and the region quickly regained its status as an enigmatic frontier land.

Day 1:Kunming-Dongchuan
visit the red land which is the photo tour place,visit the local village.take the flight to Dali.stay in Dali the stylish local guesthouse.
Visit different old villages on the old tea horse road, and watch the tea ceremony dancing performance. And colorful morning market, watch the fishing man catch the fish by special way, and the Local Tie Dye handcraft studio. Visit the local architecture and religion. Spent in the lake side guest house.
Day 3 Weishan ancient town,and local market ,and hui village ,and Weibaoshan Taoism temple
Drive to Weishan, about 2-3 hours,visit the old town,and The birthplace of Nanzhao kingdom :Yi ethnic（728 AD）,which was rebuild in Qing dynasty, as the Hui (muslin ) kingdom once.Stay in a stylish local guesthouse.
Day 4-5 Yunlong-Liangbi-Baoshan
We will pass the old BoNan Gudao,we will see the original old bridge, and the gross the Mekong river, and pass the thousand year old remote trail.
Lots of poems and writers had been here before. stay in the local village.
visit Heshun the historical and quiet town, which is over 300 years old,visit the village nearby.stay in Heshun stylish guesthouse.
Day 12-13 Mangshi :Dai village
Day 14 Fly from Mangshi to Kunming,end of the trip.
